What is embroidery?

Embroidery is the craft of decorating fabric using a needle and thread. Here at Merch Mama, we specialise in machine embroidery  - meaning we use our trusty embroidery machine to stitch designs based on a digital embroidery file. It’s fast, precise, and gives beautifully consistent results every time.

 

What is the MOQ?

There is no minimum order requirement for embroidery but it does get cheaper the more units you order. (Bulk = bargain!)

 

Can I order a sample?

Absolutely! Before placing a large order we usually advise ordering a single unit with the design. Though every order is carefully looked over and won't be sent out unless it meets out very high standards so you can rest assured that the quality will be *chef's kiss*

 

What is digitising?

Digitising is the art (and it really is an art) of turning your design into an embroidery file.  Every stitch, stitch, fill and direction are are manually mapped out by a human (whaaaat?!) - not by AI or auto-software.

 

What file type can I upload?

Please upload a PNG  file with a transparent background. This helps avoid any sneaky background areas being stitched accidentally.

 

What is the turn around time?

It typically takes between 1-3 weeks to be completed and dispatched.

 

How large can I have the design?

The maximum size we can go up to is 265mm x 315mm, this is based on our largest hoop (thtat's the frame that holds the fabric while it is being embroidered).

 

Where do you ship to?

We are currently shipping to locations within the UK, but who knows - maybe we will go global one day?!

 

What machinery do you use?

We use a commercial, German engineered, 6 head ZSK embroidery machine - an absolute powehouse and the best in the business!

 

How is the price calculated?

Pricing is based on the number of stitches in your design. Our base price includes up to 5,999 stitches, and if your logo is larger, the stitch count (and price) will adjust accordingly. You’ll see this live in the design tool - super simple!
 

What colour threads are available?

We’ve got over 100 Madeira threads (the gold standard of embroidery threads) and can match as closely as possible to your design colours. Need a specific Pantone match? Just give us a shout - we can sort that too.

 

What is your returns policy?

As each item is customised and made to order so we are unable to accept returns unless the item is incorrect or faulty. Full details of the returns policy can be found here

 

Can I see the blank garments before puchasing?

Absolutely! We keep a small selection of demo garments at our wonderful studio in Thanet, Kent. If you're near by, give us a ring on 01843 627 076  and we can arrange a time for you to pop in and say hello.
